How to write a technical brief for an event

A good brief starts with the event’s goals and the audience profile. Then the format, the venue, the timing and the running order.

A producer’s checklist: what to put in the brief to get an accurate quote with no surprises on site.

Describe the venue separately: dimensions, rigging height, load-in access and power. This directly affects the quote.

The earlier a technical partner is involved, the cheaper and calmer the project runs. Ideally — at the concept stage.
